Shobozan Fudenji is a Zen Buddhist Temple founded in 1984, from then on the Temple is directed by Master Fausto Taiten Guareschi. The spiritual centre is located in Bargone, a small inhabited situated between Salsomaggiore and Tabiano Terme. The life in Fudenji (Gyoji) is in accordance with the ancient rules of the japanese Zen Monasteries: Zazen, work, ceremonies and teaching, in order to keep alive the spirit of Dôgen Zenji (the Zen Soto founder, 1200 - 1253).

Few residents assure the daily Gyoji. Many other monks, nouns and lay people come frequently, from different parts of Italy and other foreign countries, for training and sesshins.
The programmes of Fudenji provide monthly Sesshins along with training Sesshins, Summer Sesshins (in August) and Winter Ango (three months of intensive training). Every Sunday there is Sanzen Kai where beginners are introduced to the Zen practice, the Tradition and the Doctrine.

For any information on activities, please contact the secretary's office directly.
