Hilly outlying ward situated at about 3 km from the town of Salsomaggiore Terme. Panoramic site, ideal destination for light trekking routes, cycling tours and gastronomic itineraries. There is the possibility to visit a local diary where the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese is produced. Interesting to see the Botanical Garden of Officinal Plants. In Contignaco is situated the golf course "Salsomaggiore Golf & Coutry Club", with its 18 championship holes.
The hamlet of Contignaco includes two places called Piè di Via and Capo Sivizzano.

Interesting the Romanesque Parish Church of St. John Baptiste situated on the top of a hill, its presence is mentioned for the first time in a document of 1179. Reconstruction works were carried out in 1391; the facade has a 14th century sculpture representing the Madonna and Child. The church, with a nave and two side aisles, contains inside frescoes dated XV and XVI century. The hill where the small Romanesque parish church lies is extremely quiet and calm and gives a feeling of peace and stillness
